My friend Jimmy Dinsmore sent me a fundraiser request. He’s riding 18.2 miles as a fundraiser for cancer research. What shocked me about this is Jimmie was born with spina bifida. Doctors told his parents he wouldn’t be able to walk. Thirteen surgeries and a lot of work proved them wrong.
Last year Jimmy got inspired to walk a 5k when his daughter’s teacher fell ill. He wrote “I’m sending this to anyone who might be able to help with any small little donation for my cause. My daughter’s teacher is 32 and is battling breast cancer right now. So I’m walking for her. The 3.1 miles will be a little bit of a challenge for someone like me.”
No kidding.
This year he’s going 18.2 miles on a bike. Every mile is going to be a challenge.
